Final Project Proposal

For my final project I would like to implement an application that uses port audio to record audio from an input source and use Max MSP to manipulate and sequence audio clips from the input using midi or step sequencing. If possible I would also like to add some sort of midi controllable subtractive synthesizer within Max MSP. My main goal is to figure out first some scheme to create a unique sampling feature in this application. As of now I’m pretty sure that most software samplers do not allow the audio source to be recorded directly into the program and used for midi purposes, so that in itself would be unique and useful if feasible. I secondly want to research subtractive synthesis and create an application that will allow me to control various synth sounds from a midi controller.
