~*~ Edmund and Maria Grey's Story ~*~
Edmund Grey met beautiful Dr. Maria Santos after Brooke English dump him to marry Tad Martin. His aunt Peggy, encourage him to ask Maria out instead of moping around Wildwind. He finally did and had their first date at Hals. They talked over beer and she taught him Texas two step, and by the end of the song, they were both happier than they have been in ages. Afterwards they played pool, walked on the beach, and when Edmund took Maria home, they shared their first kiss and Maria cooked for Edmund for the first time. Edmund and Maria clicked instantly and slowly fell deeply in love. They eventually married in 1993. They tried several times to conceive a baby, but to no avail. They decided to adopt Kelsey Jefferson's baby, but later lost Sam when Kelsey decided she wanted custody of Sam restored to her. Through a marriage with ulterior motives, Bobby Warner convinced Kelsey to give Sam back to Edmund and Maria and the Greys were reunited with their son.
Maria and Edmund's child tragedies were not over. Shortly after her one night stand with Edmund's brother, Dimitri, Maria found out she was pregnant. Skye Chandler managed to seduce a lab technician which then allowed her to accesss Maria'a paternity test results. Skye made it look like Dimitri was the father of Maria's baby when Edmund was the real father. Skye hoped Edmund would fall for her but it never happened. When Erica learned of the paternity of Maria's baby, she confronted her in a cabin during an icy storm and Maria went into premature labor. When Erica and Maria were headed to the hospital, Erica's car skidded off the road and the baby was lost in Willow Lake or so they thought. While trying to prove to everyone that she didn't willingly let the baby drown in Willow Lake, she found a woman in a trailer who had found the baby. Erica convinced the lady that baby was hers and prepared to give the baby to Maria but overheard a conversation between Dimitri and Maria that they said it was fortunate the baby had died. Erica decided to lie and say she adopted the baby from Russia. Erica decided to give the baby back to Edmund and Maria but was charged with kidnapping and other felonies.
Soon after Edmund and Maria got Maddie back, tragedy stuck the Greys. Edmund, Maria, and Maddied flew to New York City to attend an awards ceremony for Brooke. The flight back caused Edmund to lose Maria. Maria and Brooke traded seats so Edmund and Brooke could discuss business but then as the jet exploded Edmund and Maria reached across the aisles to hold hands and then it crashed. It went over a cliff and Maria's body wasn't found. Brooke, Edmund and Maddie survived, but Maria was presumed dead. Edmund blamed Brooke for Maria's "death" claiming she shouldn't have switched seats with Maria. While he was suffering his lost, Dimitri sued Edmund for custody of Maddie. Dimitri won but then Skye told everyone the truth, that Edmund was the real father of Maddie. Edmund eventually got Maddie back.
In 2002, Edmund got married to Brooke English- 5 years after Maria's "death". But then it was revealed that Maria is indeed alive. Brooke and David knew the truth, but kept it to themselves. Edmund and Maria got a beautiful reunion, but Maria doesn't remember anything about her past, not even Edmund. Edmund was furious with Brooke and they annuled their marriage. Edmund wanted more than anything to be with Maria again. Maria is slowly trying to recover her memory and she knows how much Edmund seems to love her, but she still doesn't remember anything.
Edmund was desperate for Maria to remember, so he gave her a drug, David made, to help her. When he confessed, Maria was furious, and the drug didn't really work. Aiden was framed for murder, so Maria went on the run with him. When everything was cleared up, Maria and Aiden returned home. Edmund apologized to Maria about everything, and told her he loves her so much he has to let her go.
While Maria and Aiden are happy together, Edmund grew closer to Mia. When Maddie witnessed someone shooting someone else, the shooter came after Maddie while they were on a boat. He pushed her in the water and Maria went in to save her. While, in the water, Maria's entire memory came back and Maddie was saved. Maria said goodybe to Aiden, and finally told Edmund that her memory had returned and she loves him. They finally reunited and got remarried at Wildwind with just their family.
Kendall, Aiden, Greenlee, Ryan, Mia, Juan Pablo, and Edmund were stuck at this cabin. Maria had a nightmare so she raced to the cabin to find Edmund. Some shooters who were after Juan Pablo, shot Edmund. He was in a coma, until he finally woke up. Unfortunely, Edmund had became paralyzed and Maria doesn't want him to go through surgery because she's afraid it could kill him. Will Edmund regain the use of his legs? Stay Tuned to All my Children.
