Is Oral Sex Safe for Virgins?

Hi... Thumbs up for the page, real cool...

I was wondering if I can ask for some advice... My Girlfriend and I are planing to have sex for first time soon (both virgins)... she wants me to perform oral sex on her, but I was wondering, is that risky? I mean, according to her she is a virgin, but still, is there any kind of risk? considering also that the first time we have sex, she would probably bleed a bit cause she is losing her virginity... Even let's say if she wasn't a virgin, is it dangerous for me to give oral sex? thanks a lot!!!!

confused...

Hey confused...

There's always a risk in any kind of contact in which bodily fluids may mix/be exposed. Now, I'll grant you that if your girlfriend is, indeed, a virgin, the risk of being exposed to an STI is significantly decreased, it seems that you're not sure if this is the case.

If you think that she is not a virgin, I would recommend using a dental dam or saran wrap for oral sex. If she asks, just say you're taking an extra precaution.

If you plan on having intercourse, I CANNOT stress ENOUGH the importance that you use some form of contraceptive or protection. Using a couple together is a great idea, too.

Like I said, any kind of sex involves risk, but if you take the proper precautions, there's no reason why you and your girlfriend can't have a great time.

Thanks for writing,
