Relationships between Free Woman  and Men of Gor

I would like to address what seems to be a rather commonly shared opinion of the Men of Gor regarding Free Women and that is that we are Dommes.  This is an unfortunate misconception as there is a WORLD of difference between the BSDM Mistress and the Gorean Mistress.  I will admit that the Gorean Mistress is capable of having and handling slaves in a Dominant manner but this is because she is expected to do so not because she is a whip cracking Dominant.  It in NO way indicates that she is incapable of being soft or submissive to the ONE she has chosen, just that she is wise and fair and knows how to handle slaves for herself OR her Man.  The Gorean Mistress is a special prize to be cherished and nurtured and she always knows her freedom is at the hands of the Gorean men around her.

This has probably been the hardest area for me to find my place as a Free Woman.  I like men, enjoy their company and like to explore the inherent differences  between us. Gorean men are very sexual creatures and hard to resist.  As a FW I must be creative in how I react to them and how I communicate my sexuality to them.  This is a challenge.  I believe Free Women still have the  desire to please men.......

I relish and cherish my Freedom just as a slave relishes her servitude.  I do NOT as some say burn secretly to be a slave.  I could accomplish that easily enough if I wished it as there are Many Gorean men willing to accomodate me.  I cherish the Man who can appreciate this and will take the time from his swords and Brothers to get to know me.  It is natural for a man to "take" a slave which is easier than taking the time to get to know a Free Woman  and I find this somewhat of an enigma to the basic pshyche of the Gorean Man since I have percieved that he rarely chooses the easy road in his other endeavors.  I only wish with a deep desire to enjoy a freedom of speech, to participate in the goings on of the Free and to stretch my intellectual freedom..... in other words to be valued for THESE traits.  But later in the company of the One that has won my heart I may nurture him and hold him dear showing a sweet submission in my reactions to his much needed strength.  I am strong, I will not break and what we do together and how we react to each other in our own chambers is for Him to decide.  A free woman can be and often IS submissive to the ONE that has won her.

Once a FW has made the choice of a worthy man.......... I believe she begins to little by little as trust builds let go of the fierce protection of  the control she has had up to this point ... and re-directs her attentions of how she can best compliment him and make him proud he has her.  She will become more submissive to him but will do so in the confines of their home.

In conclusion I say again... the Gorean Mistress and the BSDM Mistress although both bearing the title proudly are very different creatures.
