Elyria Township History
The Elyria Township Fire Department proudly protects 3699 people living in an area of 5.94 square miles.  We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area.  Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of parttime and volunteer status.

Established in 1952, we have since became a smaller township, but the fire department continues to grow.  We currently have 26 members on the department.  We have a day shift that works 7 days a week from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.  Then at night we have volunteers.  We have 3 pumpers, 1 grass fire truck and 2 full size squads.  The department is EMT-Paramedic and currently and has many Paramedics on the roster.
