Interior is pretty solid. Some floor rot, but no big deal. Windshield and frame has been replaced, as well as the non-military items.

| Plans for the future are to finish the V8 swap with the new transmission and transfer case. Have new driveshafts made. Fix the body's sheetmetal and prep it for paint. Reassemble the whole truck and install the brake master cylinder, booster, and proportioning valve from the '74 Dodge W200 parts truck. Eventually the whole truck will have a new, modern 3 color camouflage paint job, as is used on U.S. Military vehicles today, and I hope to locate a nice S250 Communications Shelter to put in the bed. Tires are still up in the air since I cannot decide between the stock 9.00x16 NDTs and Michelin 11.00x16 XLs or even XZLs. I have a feeling my wallet may decide my tire choice for me. It will be a long road, but soon this old soldier will be restored to it's former glory. Pics of the progressing restoration will follow. | Here is my 1967 M715 military cargo truck. The pics below show what it looked like when I first bought it. It has come a long way since then, but there is still much further to go. |
The original 230 OHC inline 6 cylinder engine that is now being replaced by a 318 V8.

These two pics are of the new windshield frame, windshield glass, seal, and new vinyl top. I went with a mil-spec vinyl top because the original canvas doesn't last as long out in the sun. The vinyl should prove to be more durable and more resistant to the sun and not smell as bad as the canvas.
This is how the M715 sits now. The cab is off the frame and the old engine, transmission, and transfer case has be taken out and sold. In it's place is going the 318 V8 and NP435 transmission shown in the pics. Yes, it's filthy now, but before it's all over the 318 will be painted either black or OD green and have all the steel vent and vacuum lines run on it as the original 230 had. I intend to make the 318 as capable as the 230 when it comes to fording ability.

And for those who think my M715 is too far gone or ugly to bother working on, here is a before and after pic of the tailgate. The first pic is of the M715 the night I bought it. The second is what the rear looks like after a little time with a wire brush on a grinder, some primer and spray paint. Amazing what you can do when you put you mind to it.
