TRANSFORMERS:  THE POST WAR CHRONICLES

When the universe began, a fallen god known as Unicron began devouring it to cure his insatiable hunger.  After he had finished, he slept.  Not known to him, the universe was recreated while he slumbered.  After the universe was back in place, a guardian named Primus was created.  Unicron awoke, and began eating again.  Primus fought him, yet while he did the universe around them began to be destroyed.  So Primus tricked Unicron into becoming trapped within a planetoid, sacrificing his own freedom as well.  Both eventually psionically shaped their planetoids into something else.  Unicron made his able to transform into his former body, while Primus created the world known as Cybertron.
In order to fight Unicron, Primus created the Transformers.  In the year of 1990, Unicron found Cybertron and attacked.  Along the way, he had retrieved a servant for him from another dimension where he had destroyed Cybertron.  This servant turned against him, and was eventually thrown into the icy waters of Alaska

EPISODE II:  OLD GHOSTS

As the Autobots milled around on Cybertron, a shadowy figure began flying towards the planets only moon.  This moon was the head of Unicron, the Chaos-Bringer.  Unicron had been orbiting the planet ever since his destruction at the hands of Rodimus Prime.  Many left it there for purposes of memorial:  remembering the deaths that the dark god had caused. No one ever visited, though.  Unicron had been rendered helpless for years, but it was a frightening idea to go inside.
Yet someone was not scared.  The stranger flew straight into Unicrons mouth, and stood there.  He looked confused at first, and appeared to not know where he was.  Then a voice spoke.
WELCOME.
The stranger stumbled backward.  The voice was powerful, but not as booming as it once was.
YOU HAVE BEEN SUMMONED BY ME AGAIN,  Unicron said.  THIS TIME, I HOPE YOU WILL DO AS I SAY.  YOU HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH FOR ME TO TAKE PITY ON YOU, AND ACTIVATE YOU FROM THE BOWELS OF THAT ICY PRISON.
T-thank you,  the stranger replied.  He had amnesia;  all he remembered was being thrown into that awful place.
SINCE YOU DO NOT REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, I HAVE DECIDED TO REPAIR YOUR MIND,  Unicron boomed.  THIS TIME, I WILL DO WELL TO MAKE SURE IT IS MORE STABLE COMPARED TO.YOUR FORMER SELF.
A door opened.  The figure walked inside, and it quickly shut behind him.  A blinding light flashed, causing momentary pain followed by unconsciousness.  When he awoke, he remembered everything.  He left the room, and received his orders.

On Cybertron, the Autobots were living the high life.  A few weeks ago the Decepticons had been defeated once and for all.  Galvatron was dead, and their troops were battered and shaken.  They would not dare face the Autobots in battle again.   The Decepticons were now outnumbered and no longer had a leader.  As maniacal as Galvatron was, he still was the most powerful leader they had.  Nothing seemed to be standing in their way.
Yet one Autobot was not satisfied, and he was the one who had single-handedly defeated Galvatron.  Optimus Prime still just could not shake off the feeling that something bigger and worse was to happen.  He spent most of his days sitting in his room in the Great Hall, keeping to himself.  The only one he ever confided in was Hot Rod, and that was not very often.
Optimus was very concerned about the latest event that had happened.  Unicrons head had fallen out of Cybertrons orbit, and was missing.  No one had seen it go, and many shrugged it off as not being a problem.  Optimus Prime, though, saw this as a sign.  Something horrible was going to happen, and he didnt know what to expect.

Optimus Prime didnt know how right he was.  For as he sat in the Great Hall pondering over Unicrons disappearance, the head of the dark god was making its way to a nearby planet.  This planet was unnamed in the scheme of the universe; no one cared about it.  Yet the inhabitants were of a strange race.  They were the Quintessons, a half-organic, half-mechanical race who had lived on Cybertron years before.  Their planet, Quintessa, had been destroyed years ago.  Ever since then, they have schemed against the Transformers, Autobots and Decepticons alike.  The last time anyone of them had been seen was when one was used to resurrect Optimus Prime.  Now they resided on this planet trying to make their own Cybertron using their own creations, the Sharkticons.
As they were meeting in a building discussing what their next plans for the planet were, an earthshaking explosion was heard.  They milled around frantically, wondering what it was.  Then another deafening noise:  a portion of the wall was vaporized.  A figure stood stoically in the wall.  Every Quintesson in the room knew who it was.
Galvatron!  one exclaimed.
I heard he was dead!  another shouted.
And where did you hear that?  the Decepticon asked, smiling.
We have spies who check on recent developments on Cybertron!  the High Chairman said.  Optimus Prime killed you!
Well I guess your spies were wrong,  Galvatron said.  The Quintessons were frightened.  They would order their Sharkticons to attack, but they knew that every one of the brutish soldiers would be killed instantly.  Galvatron was a force to be reckoned with:   this time he seemed calm and collected, as opposed to the insanely-driven Galvatron they had known from their previous encounters.
Whawhat do you want?  the High Chairman said.  He had presided over the Quintessons hearings ever since they had landed on the planet.  Overall, their new existence was a peaceful one;  the days of scheming were over.  Now it looked like any kind of existence for them wouldnt be lasting much longer.
I come for my master,  Galvatron said.  Unicron.
The name brought a shutter to the room.  Every member of the Quintesson race knew about Unicron.  Eons ago, the Chaos-Bringer had created them as worshippers.  He needed slaves to do his work, but the Quintessons were not the ones to do it.  They soon abandoned their creator, and eventually came to Cybertron, where they in turn enslaved the Transfomers.
What does Unicron want?  The Quintessons were obviously still frightened, but confused.  Unicron had forsaken them years ago, not caring about what had happened to them.
He wishes for you to repay your debt to him,  Galvatron said.  By creating you, he wishes for you to recreate him.

Galvatron smiled as the Quintessons worked.  Commanding a race of people brought back the thrills he once had eons ago. He missed leading the Decepticons; it seemed like forever since he had killed Rodimus Prime and conquered the region of North America on the planet Earth.  Still, that was another dimension, and by now the Autobots had surely revolted and defeated his Decepticon minions.  No matter.  After the Quintessons rebuilt Unicrons body, he was promised to return to the Decepticons as long as he served the Chaos-Bringer faithfully.  Apparently his predecessor, the Galvatron of this dimension, had been destroyed by Optimus Prime.  This Galvatron had never faced against the powerful Autobot leader, but he really didnt care.  After Unicron destroyed Cybertron, along with Prime, nothing would stand in his way of retaking the planet Earth once again.
The Quintessons, on the other hand, were not enjoying themselves.  Repairing the head of their creator was not a chore they had wished to be doing.  They knew what his dark plans were, and knew that once they had become completed, nothing would stand in his way.  The Creation Matrix no longer had any power, and no other force in the universe could stop Unicron.
STOP,  Unicron said.  All motion halted.  The Quintessons knew what happened next.  They had finished.  After repairing some moderate damage in the mind of Unicron, the Chaos-Bringers abilities to manipulate the space around him was available once again.  Cables shot out from the bottom of the head and burrowed into the ground, causing it to glow.
GALVATRON,  Unicron boomed.  He was beginning to sound stronger.
Yes Lord?  Galvatron asked.
IT WOULD DO YOU WELL TO LEAVE THIS PLANET.  GO TO YOUR DECEPTICONS AND BEGIN YOUR PLAN FOR EARTH.  YOU HAVE SERVED ME WELL, AND I WILL SPARE THAT PLANET.
Thank you, Oh Chaos-Bringer,  Galvatron said.  He began to fly away, and took one last look at the Quintessons.  Fools, he thought.  They dont even know what was going to happen to them.
The Quintessons looked in awe at Unicron as he began his transformation of the planet.  Only one slipped away to a ship in the Quintesson city, hoping to escape.  He was the High Chairman, the leader of the race.  As he reached the city, he looked back as the rest of his race was blasted by Unicrons eye rays.   When he finally reached the ship, he climbed in, and took off.  He programmed the ships computer to take him to Cybertron.  As he left, he caught a final glimpse of what was happening to his comrades.  They began to change, grow bigger.  He knew he had to hurry.

Back on Cybertron, Hot Rod was strolling around.  Something was eating at him.  Optimus Prime, his mentor and friend, was sitting up in his room in the Great Hall, doing nothing.  Ever since the final fight with the Decepticons, he had not been himself.  As great as the victory was, it didnt seem all that fulfilling  to Optimus.
Just then, he looked up to see a small probe falling from the sky.  When it crash landed, Hot Rod transformed and drove to the site.  As soon as he got there, he transformed and saw a familiar figure appear from out of the capsule.  A Quintesson!  It appeared to be heavily damaged from the crash, and began mumbling incoherently.
Hot Rod!  Whats going on?  Ultra Magnus came running up.  Many other Autobots came as well, including Springer, Kup and Arcee.
Optimus Prime,  the Quintesson said.  T-take me to him.  We.we dont have much time.
Think its a trick Magnus?  Hot Rod asked.
I doubt it,  Ultra Magnus said.  He transformed.  Here, put him on my trailer and well get to Prime.  Hot Rod, you should radio Optimus and tell him whats going on.
They lifted the Quintesson on to Ultra Magnus car carrier and the Autobot sped off towards the Great Hall.  When he reached there, Optimus was already outside waiting, looking worried.  The Quintessons hadnt been heard from since he was reincarnated, and every time they surfaced, something was wrong.  Prime had an idea of what was going on, but couldnt be sure.
Ultra Magnus transformed and held the Quintesson up.  The other Autobots were following, and showed up just as it began to speak.
I am the High Chairman of the Quintesson race,  it said.  You do not know this, but we were created eons ago as worshippers for the Chaos-Bringer, Unicron.  We escaped him, and up until only recently heard from him again.  He appeared on the planet where we were residing a few days ago, and forced us to work for him.  Unicrons head was severely damaged by the last fight with him.  He pointed at Hot Rod.
What exactly is going on?  Optimus asked, fearing the worst.
Unicron has once again found a way to rebuild himself!  the High Chairman exclaimed.  He is already manipulating the planet around him now to resemble his old body!  And he has taken my comrades and turned them into his powerful minions to assassinate you, Optimus Prime!!!
Why does he want to kill him?  Hot Rod asked.  I was the one who fulfilled the prophesy of rising in our darkest hour, he should want to kill me!
I dont know why he wants Prime,  the Quintesson replied, clearly becoming weakened by the moment.  He.he must fear that your leader has the power to defeat him...
The Quintesson uttered his last words.  The Autobots bowed their heads, and then all eyes turned to Optimus.  He stood there stoically, thinking about what to do.  The one thing that had defeated Unicron time and time again was the Matrix, but now it was emptied of its power.  Nothing on Cybertron had the power of the Creation Matrix, nothing else had any essence of Primus left to combat the demigod.  Nothing except.
Autobots,  transform and roll out!  Optimus Prime had once again become the leader he had always been.  Hot Rod, Im leaving you in command!
Where are you going Optimus?  Hot Rod asked.
To search for a miracle, Optimus replied.  He transformed, and began driving towards the tunnel that led to the center of Cybertron.
All right Autobots!  You heard Prime!  Lets see if we can hold off the Unicrons until Optimus gets back!  Hot Rod quickly transformed and led the Autobots to the defense stations.

FOOLS,  Unicron thought.  He had begun shaping the planet to look more like his old self, and became more powerful in the process.  The Unicron Army was lined up in front of him, made up of the Quintessons and Sharkticons, reborn and rebuilt.  Their new leader was Unicrons favorite achievement.  Using his old memory banks, he was able to build an ultimate warrior to fight Prime.
GO, MY UNICRONS,  Unicron ordered.  DESTROY OPTIMUS PRIME.
They flew off, heading for Cybertron.

Hot Rod scanned the sky for what seemed like an eternity.  Fighting Decepticons was one thing, fighting an unknown enemy was another.  Most of the Autobots were stationed in gunnery towers, only a few including himself were stationed on the ground for an all out assault.  He hoped that it was a good plan.
Here they come!!!  Ultra Magnus exclaimed.
Flying towards Cybertron, an immense army of robots began firing upon the Transformers below.  Every one of them looked like miniature versions of Unicron, and immediately struck fear into the Autobots.  Still, their history had always shown them to be valiant:  they began to fire.  Hot Rods plan turned out to be wise.  He had figured since Unicron did not want an army of deserters this time, the minions would be like mindless zombies, not really wise in the aspects of combat.  They proved to be easy pickings for the gunnery stations, and only a few were able to slip by.  The far superior Autobots were easily taking them down.  Then the remainder of the Unicrons landed, and charged.
Hot Rod had planned this well too.  The Autobots who had remained on the ground as foot soldiers charged, then transformed.  Every one of them were able to play a little bit of a demolition derby, taking out Unicron soldier one by one.  What Hot Rod did not realize was that this was all part of Unicrons plan.  While the fighting continued on the surface in the Autobots favor, Unicrons ultimate warrior was able to slip around to the other side of Cybertron, past the defenses, and head for the tunnel that Optimus Prime had just gone into.

Where is it?  Optimus Prime said to himself.   He was driving along at his top speed, racing towards his goal:  Vector Sigma.  When the Quintesson had mentioned him knowing a way to stop Unicron, his mind raced and realized something:  Vector Sigma,  the supercomputer with the ability to install minds and personalities into the Transformers could be the key to everything.
Suddenly, Optimus Prime was turned over to his side.  An explosion to the right of him had caused him to crash.  He hurriedly transformed, and looked to where the shot had came from and gasped.
Megatron?!?
The former Decepticon leader stood in front of him, looking as powerful as ever.  This was the first time he had been seen in years, at least since the battle on Earth where both Prime and Megatron were mortally wounded.
YOU ARE ONLY HALF RIGHT, PRIME,  Megatron boomed.  The voice sounded familiar:  Unicron.  I HAVE MADE AN EXACT REPLICA OF YOUR OLD FOE.  ONLY NOW, A PART OF MY ESSENCE IS WITHIN HIM, AND HIS FUSION CANNON IS POWERED BY ME.  THIS WILL BE YOUR FINAL BATTLE:  PREPARE FOR OBLIVION.
The only one who should be concerned about oblivion is you, Unicron,  Optimus said.  He charged the Megatron clone.  It fired its fusion cannon, narrowly missing Prime.  Transforming, Prime drove straight at Megatron, knocking him aside.  Optimus transformed and began firing his rifle.  The clone was hit, but survived.  Prime then charged, but was cut down.  The Megatron clone had began firing its cannon relentlessly, and finally hit Optimus in the shoulder.  Optimus Prime fell, and looked up.
IT IS OVER PRIME,  Unicrons voice said.  MOMENTARILY I WILL ARRIVE AT THIS PUNY PLANET, AND DEVOUR YOUR SOLDIERS.  IT IS A PITY YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE IT.
Optimus Prime looked down, and knew he had lost.  Megatron had always been a powerful foe, but when Unicron was controlling his body, he was unstoppable.  He faced his death with understanding, and prepared for the final blast.
CRASH!  Optimus Prime looked up, and saw Hot Rod run into the Megatron clone at full speed.  He had come down looking for Optimus, and found his leader lying in front of Megatron.  Quickly and quietly transforming, he sped down the hall to save Prime.  It worked:  the Megatron clone fell off to the side, buying Optimus some time to get up.
Optimus!  Hot Rod transformed.  Are you okay?
Ill survive,  Optimus said, wincing as he got up.  Hurry, we need to get to Vector Sigma before he gets back up.
They transformed and began speeding towards the center of Cybertron.  The Megatron clone got up after a few minutes, and began flying after them.
Whos in charge up top?  Optimus asked as they drove.
Ultra Magnus,  Hot Rod said.  The Unicron Army was demolished, so I came after you.  Guess this makes up for what happened at Autobot City?
It did,  Optimus said with pride.  Thank you.  I just hope we can make it back before its too late.  Suddenly a huge explosion was heard from up above.  Optimus Prime and Hot Rod had realized what it meant:  Unicron had arrived.
