Chapter 9 -Secret of the Temple of Mystra
After a short break at the Inn, Harlin over heard a conversation that promised a fiscal reward, and pushed the group to look into it. What they got was an offer from a cleric of Mystra to investigate a newly founded Temple of Mystra. He said that he did not know any of the people who ran the place, and he got the feeling to run, and he was shot at while he ran away. He offered the group 2000 gold pieces if they could discover the truth behind the the temple and stop it. The group decided to head out at night, and after a brief interlude with the guard of the temple, the heroes decided to try a more subtle approach. With Cyquis "Snake" in the lead, the group snuck over the wall, and past the guards. After dropping most of the guards in and out of the temple, the heroes unlocked a door leading to an altar guarded by two men with grey skin, wrapped in darkness. In the altar was a minor artifact of Shar, called the Starry Gnosis. Deeper in the bowels of the temple they discovered that the temple was in fact run by priests of Shar, and that they had a failed Shadowgate down in the basement, and that they were gathering followers of Mystra and taking them somewhere into the Vast Swamp. In a cell they found a young woman undera charm spell, who was waiting to be taken to the swamp. As the heroes took the woman back to the surface, Harlin walked into the gate, and returned shortly afterwards, a bit paler than before. Now the heroes plan out there next move.
