Chapter 5 -Orcs of the Mountain Hall
The heroes made haste to leave the forge with the dragon's horde in hand. They found that the underground river rushed swiftly to the surface of the Dark Mere. Gaging and coughing the warriors poured onto the beaches to regain their breath. In the town the party purchased what gear they needed, and discussed their next move. Ultimately, they decided to help the town, by finishing off the orc bandits that they had found in the forge earlier. After a days journey, the heroes came upon the orc lair going through the back, and finding their temple. There they confronted a old priestess and her two apprentices. After a brief skirmish, the heros werethe victors, and returned to the main gate of the old dwarven ruins, and took out the orcs head on. Doan sundered the door with a kick, and charged into the guards, hewing them apart. The party then blundered into a living quarters full of orcs, and with skill and luck held out as they fought against 12 orcs. The noise attracted the other guards, who alerted the boss and the rest of the band. Soon the heroes were barrading themselves in a room as a horde of 21 orcs lead by an ogre with two pet wolves, came storming at them. The orcs proved to be a simple matter. The first ten charged in to the narrow corridor, where they fell to the axes and swords of the defenders. Then the heroes shut the door on the rest of the orcs, only to have it ripped a sunder by an ogre. With a large axe in his hand he demolished the door in a few strong swings, and charged forth eyeing Winter and unleashing his fury unto the young priest. With a mighty blow, the ogre crushed the helmet of the holy warrior, flinging the unconsious Winter across the room. In a savage counterattack, the heroes charged into the remaining orcs and slaughtered them. After sometime, the fallen warrior regained consiousness, but felt weak for some time after. As the heroes explored the newly conquered dwarven halls, they found a lone surving orc. The ogre's personal sex slave. The heroes tried to talk to the orc, but the orc could not understand them. they walked at it until it was cornered. Then heroes threw meat at her, all the while they reeked of the blood of her butchered kin. After coming to close, the orc bite at Alania, who reflexivly punched the orc in the face. The slave ran past the heroes and into the hall way, where she found all her kin, and lovers torn apart and laid in piles. In a scream of rage, she grabbed the short sword off the body of one of her lovers, and turns to face the heroes. Knowing she cannot beat them, and fearing , being raped by these beasts if she is captured, she runs the sword through her own heart. The heroes stand in bewilderment, unable to understand why she would do such a thing. After a another day long journey back to Blasingdell, the band returned to the Constable, showing her that the threat was now over, and that peace would now return to the village.
