Book I - A Song of Shadows
Chapter 11 - Into the Darkness
The heroes have stormed the keep in the swamp, slaying the half-dragon Ketssarra, and the Kithlord Thiervan before the Dusk Lord�s Passage. In the room above the heroes narrowly defeated a Khumat to save the imprisoned Alania. Eventually the group traveled into the Shadowplane, where they defeated some Shadowslain lizard folk of the Shadowscale, and free a lizardfol prisoner. The heroes escorted the lizardman, Steersissk back to the tribe, before returning to the plane. When they returned, now armed with some info from the lizarman, the group then went south and took over the boat that takes the captives to the Monastery. They found Alania�s belongings on board, as well as a few other treasures, one of which was a lyre with a piece of parchment that had a song on it. The song was to pacify the Guardian(a shadowdemon) which Alania did, using the dragonbone lyre. After they arrived, the group entered the monastery and destroyed the golem that guarded a shrine to Cyric, and the gargoyles that defended the halls. But they were surprised when they were attacked by a cleric and her elite guards, as well as some demons she summoned. As the heroes would gain there footing, another band of warriors would come from the flank, along with a mage among their ranks. Eventually with iron will and blade, the heroes hacked their way through the guards of the temple, and now are posed to enter the Black Rift, and find the source of the evil.
