Baptism of Michi
at Gereja Katedral, Jakarta
on 23rd October 1998
Michi went to Jakarta with Mama, having his first flight when he was 10 weeks old. Revi stayed in Singapore because she had to study and do her exams. Michi was baptised at the Cathedral Church in Jakarta, attended by family and friends.

Omi, Opi, Oom Bisma, Opa Paul, Opa Perry, Oom Yus, Oom Jura were there, while Mama-s good friend tante Nunuk plus Papa-s friends & colleagues tante Lidya, tante Mira, Klaus Borstner, Tom Fromwald, tante Lea and Onkel Klausi, the Godfather, were there, too.

Michi was baptised by Father Sugiri, a Dutch originated Indonesian. Tante Lea, Onkel Klaus wife, and tante Lidya, Papa-s secretary, had helped a lot to make Michi-s baptism realised.

The following Sunday, 25th October 1998, Omi gave a baptism party at Jl. MPR Raya, attended by many more family members and friends. Michi and his parents were very grateful to all these people for making both occasions a lovely time to remember.
Above was Michi getting ready for the baptism, just outside the church, not looking very pleased. You could see part of Omi (her right hand, with the dark sleeve) and Opa Paul-s shoulder & left arm with his watch, trying to comfort little Michi. It did not take long for Michi to gain his confidence (or sleepiness?). He was very quiet (=sleeping!) throughout the whole ceremony.
