Though the focus of this photo essay is GLBT parent folk with children in their arms or wrapped around their shoulders holding onto each other the relationship between two men friends of mine, Mark and Ken, who have been together since 1979 define the concept of family within the GLBT community. And as a result but since they were at Baltimore's Pride celebration in Druid Hill Park and as they have been at many such celebrations, over the years, it is appropriate that their picture be included as the very first in this essay. 21jul02 .
