| In an email alert on Friday, 10 June, Peter Cramer having just arrived back in NYC from Queeruption8 would suggest that on Saturday, 11 June, beginning at 2pm GLBT folks and their supporters throughout the global community coordinate a Global Day of Action in front of Polish embassies around the world in solidarity with the Warsaw GLBT community whose 2005 GLBT Pride had been cancelled by Mayor Lech Kaczynski citing that he "is for tolerance, but against propagating gay orientation ..." read more | ||||||||||||||||||

In preparation of Saturday's action as well as WDC's 2005 Pride celebration I'd spend Friday night and Saturday morning putting together "And Without Apologies". When passing through Dupont Circle at 1:45 pm on Saturday, 11 June, en route to the Polish Embassy, I'd happen upon the 2005 Dyke March Assemblance Rally. Commenting on the disparity and discrimination that many dyke anarchist experience the speaker would inform the crowd that the theme for the 2005 Dyke March was "Thnk Outside the Boxes!". | |||||||||||||||||

| Remembering my experiences from one year before I'd only take a few shots of the 2005 Dyke Rally in Dupont Circle before rushing over to 16th Street where between Q and R I'd catch the bus north to the Polish Embassy which is located at 2640 16th between Euclid and Fuller streets. Moments after my 2pm arrival Shawn would arrive from the north and Nick and Tony would appear from the south. Informing them that due to Homeland Security we may not wish to stand around too long we'd take four pictures and then head back to 17th Street .... | ![]() |

| One would think that after taking pictures on 17th Street since 1992 being black, gay and everything, that I'd be respected, welcomed and rewarded. However, as a 51 year old gay black man, and in sharp contrast to my white counter part ... and after more than 30 years ... when I now walk along or take pictures on 17th Street ... or of Barracks Row on 8th Street or of Stead Park on P or of 8th Avenue in Chelsea or of Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors I have to be concerned that I may be arrested and that my film and camera may be confiscated. | ||||||||||||||||||

| While waiting for the Dyke March to reach 17th Street I'd inquire of Jan and Nan if I may capture them kissing each other ... as a statement against the banning of the Warsaw Pride. Later when I would capture the Dyke March as it turned onto P from 17th Street ... and in a similar way as I had been approached one year before when documenting the Dyke Rally in Dupont Circle a white dyke would approach me, put her hand up in front of my camera and arrogantly proclaim 'You'll not welcomed ...!' | ||||||||||||||||||
