This is for the black Men ...
Blackout - The Book
The Time Has Come Today
In my writings, but, in life, too
I'll often use the phrase
"... it is not ..."
because ... as a black man ...
my experience has been
I must first discuss
'what it is not'
before you
'understand' what it is.
Since your first and last
reaction, response,
reflex
and action upon but against me
and, if truth be told,
'reasons for being or associatin' with me'
is to deny, doubt, delay, delete,
deter, degrade, and dismiss
but dismantle while
'dissin' me'.

This is not a judgement of you
as you have your own reasons
for doing what you do.
"Money, honey!."
And, sometimes, it is
'not even about me.'
I am not that
egotistical.  Nor, egotestical!
So out of respect for you
I, rhetorically, will often
"'xplain" to you
"... what it is not about ..."

And by the time you comprehend
'what it is not' but 'what it be'
it often be 'too fuckin' late for me'.  Yet,
'what it be', 'what it was', and 'what it is not'
is the 'same as it ever was'.
And
ever shall be!
Yet, not
ever what you say 'it be'.
Nor, what or who you pretended
'not to be'!
