These haunting photographs were taken by me of myself in Dale City VA on 20feb92 as I had just recieved my camera as a Christmas gift and was testing it out. It was during a time in my life when I was being put through hell. As I did not feel comfortable nor safe in my new apartment. I had nightmares and could not sleep at night. Running on empty and in search of 'peace of mind' I'd drive out of the city. The photographs are not sexual, in nature, as the intent was to depict as well as record my perspective of my life experiences as a black man. If looking at them bothers you imagine having gone through it ... and survived ... as these haunting images represent an artistic expression of my feelings at the time as pertaining to racism.
