Pippen and Gandalf are riding to Gondor and Legolas, Merry, Gimli and Aragorn are left with King Theoden and the riders fo Rohan. Pippen and Gandalf arrive in Gondor to tell Lord Denethor(Which is Faramir and Boromir's father and stuard of Gondor), the fate of his son Boromir. They stay in the city and prepare for yet another battle between good and evil, but this time they are up against Sauron's armies.
Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli decide to take the paths of the dead with Aragorn's ranger frieds to meet Gandalf for the battle. Poor Merry is left behind with Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn and the people of Edoras. THe Riders of Rohan decide also to meet Gandlaf at the battle and help their friends in Gondor. Theoden won't let Merry come for the dangers that linger, so he is to stay with Eowyn and the women and children. Though he does not stay. Instead he is stowed away by one of the smaller riders.
Back in Gondor, Faramir is shot by a deadly arrow. He is very sick and is falling quickly into darkness. His father, Denethor, who rarely shows gratitude and affection for is son is surprisingly utterly depressed by near losing the last of his sons. He orders that they both be burned side by side during the battle for he thinks the battle is a hopeless effort and that they will never win. Of course Faramir is too sick and weak to notice this let alone stop him because at the time he is only half alive, if even. Pippen finds out Denethor's order and rushes for Gandlaf's aid.. Gandalf must leave his postition where he was about to take care of the King Ringwraith in which is said that no man can destroy, to stop Denethor.
The riders finally make it to Gondor and many go down. Their horses fall nad flee in terror from the Nazgul. The Nazgul stikes King Theoden and their are only two men able to help. Did I say men? I meant people. Merry and the Rider that he was riding with are the only left mounted on horse, but eventually fall of. The rider bid's the Nazgul to leave or else to be slain but the Nazgul responds in laughter and states that no mortal man can kill him.The rider removes his helm and reveals that she is not a man but a woman, she is Eowyn. The Nazgul, confused and slightly frightened, attacks anyway. Eowyn, not fightened in the least form as most mortals would be in the presence of such evil is determined to protect Kings Theoden. She swongs her swords at the beast and kills in which the ringwraith flew upon. She falls down to the ground and also begins to fall into darkness from touching such and evil creature. Merry crawls up from behind and stabs the King Ringraith, destroying it. He also weakens and falls from the evil.
Eowyn, Faramir and Merry all in dark conditions are overcome with cold and darkness from the poison of evil. It was once said that the kings touch can heal but the king had not yet returned and Faramir with his father dead he was only the Lord of Gondor. as his father before him. the King does return though. He was actually there but afraid to enter the city because he was not ready to inherit his throne. They called for there king who was tenting outside the walls. His name was Elessar in elven and in commun tongue it meant Elfstone because of the elven Brooch or necklace that was strung around his neck. In the east he was more often known as Strider the ranger or as Aragorn son of Arathorn. Aragorn heals the three with his knowledge of healing leaves.
All the warriers but Merry, Faramir and Eowyn go for yet ANOTHER battle. This time it it merely to distract. Their hopeless battle is at the gates of Mordor, in hopes of directing Sauron's eye towards them instead of the ringbearer. A messenger of Sauron, before the battle, displays an elven cloak and mithril suitable for a small child or a hobbit and Sam's sword. After some mourning they still do not give in. Gandalf shows himslef as the white wozard and seizes the pocessions of their friends. Only one is said to be caught. He scares the messenger back into Mordor.

PART II  Sam rescues Frodo from the Orc tower and clothes him in orc garmets. They make their way to Mount Doom and just as Frodo is about to cast the ring into the fires, the ring pocesses him. He says that it is his and he disaoears. Sam falls over and Gollum returns and is seen fighting with something invisable. Gollum bites off the finger in which Frodo wore the ring and after praising himself and jumping up and down happily he slips nad falls into the fires. THe ring is distroyed. Sam and Frodo(who now only has 9 fingers and is now back to normal) makes their hopeless way back down the errupting mountain. they eventually are picked up by Gandlaf and hte eagles after they are trapped are trapped by the fires and faint. They wake up in Ithilien and dine with Gondor's king (Aragorn). Then travel to Gondor and await there for some time because Aragorn wishes them to.
Eowyn and Faramir marry and mvoe to Ithilien. Finally, Galadriel, Celeborn, Elrond and some others come with Arwen. Arwen and Aragorn wed. The hobbits finally leave alongside Galadriel, Elrond, Celeborn, Galndalf, Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn(who departs them after some short miles). Legolas and Gimli depart them and visit the forests one last time before their journey across the sea. They stop in Isengard to bid farewell to treebeard and the ents and find that Saruman is no longer there. He escaped.left but this does not bother them much now that Sauron is distroyed and Saruman has few powers so they continue their way to Rivendell. They meet up with Saruamn and Wormtongue but let them be. Galadriel and Celeborn depart near Lothlorien and Gandalf and the hobbits make their way to Rivendell to find Bilbo. they stay for Bilbo's birthday and the four youger hobbits and Gandalf are on the road again and Frodo is to finish the book with his adventure of the ring. Bilbo stays in Rivendell for the time being.
Gandalf departs them in Bree. HTe hobbits discover changes in hte Sire. Many new rules and half orc, half men are walking around bullying the Shire folk. THe four hobbits of couse take action and form a small army of hobbits and try to stop the ruffians with as little violence as possible. Less than 20 hobbits are killed though mounds of ruffians are slewn before the ruffians finally leave the shire. They go to the leader of the ruffians, Sharky, which they find is Saruman...uh oh...well, not really that bad. Frodo lets Saruamn go and he starts to leave the shire. At last, Saruamn turns around and stabs Frodo in fronts of many of hobbits. Luckily, Frodo is still wearing his mithril armour and does not budge or feel a thing. The hobbits attack Saruman but Frodo stops them. Saruamn is astonished. He actually calls Frodo wise, grown and some other stuff though some is foul. He knows that Frodo showed mercy for him and for that is forever in his debt so he continues to leave. Frodo bekens that Wormtongue need not follow him for he hasn't done any harm and he shall rest and eat then may go on a separate path, but Saruman says otherwise. Saruamn tells of Wormtongues killings and wormtongue is not happy. wormtongue slits Sarumans's thraot and after s shot down by mnay hobbit arrows for his evil deed even though it was on an evil being.
They try to repair the shire, land and houses had been ruined. Sam uses the powder that Galadriel had given him in his box to help the trees grow back and is praised and honoured. Merry and Pippen were the two that took charge of the battle against the ruffianss so they are also honoured. Frodo is wise in many was for he was the true leader in the battle though he did not draw his sword for he didn't wan't any mroe violence and he planned on how they would overcome the ruffians and he won the biggest battle, the battle of the ring, but no one takes notice to him. No one honours him of his deeds though they are the greatest of all and that saddens his spirits slightly. For he was the true hero and his friends were honoured and he wasn't. He saved everyone and everthing. Sam gets married and has a baby girl. Frodo meets the elves ad Bilbo on Bilbo's birthday the following year. Sam comes with him and are soon accompanied by Merry and Pippen later. They bid Gandalf and the elves and Frodo farewell. Frodo gives the book of his and Bilbo's adventures of the ring and get boards the boat for the Grey Havens.
