Autos nolemiron Time passes us quickly Despite what we try to hide The ages dawn around us Yet, youre by my side My brothers I call out to you Aid me in this life Stand by me and I shall be There for you in your strife As the eldest the captain stands alone From all danger he will save us Guardian of the lands we know He bears this burden without fuss Duty calls him each new morn Whether to border, fence, or field Steadfast into night hell watch He guides his people without fear Born half a century before Those he loves most dearly His protgs need not agonize For his protection grows not weary Fair of hair and soft of skin Eyes of grey that cannot veil The secrets that your face denies You gleam with beauty everywhere And middle brother we ask of you Naught but words for the wise Your sweet face and simple ways Makes the moon and stars arise You dream of days when war is gone With your hands upon the lyre When fighting calls for you no more Truthful aim when need is dire Your mind is for thought and dreams and books We wont hold you from your charge Yet when love displays its joyous face Your heart is far from vivid stars Your hair glistens silver in the light But your eyes are the palest blue Filled with knowledge beyond your years Of sun and stars and shining moon Littlest one, what do we ask Of you the youngest heir The only one with eyes of blue And brilliant golden hair Her beauty shines in your every move From face to lute to voice A countenance beyond the Elven dream A departure against your choice Your skills have yet to grow Strong as they may be In swords you learn from the best That Lrien can give to thee No love of books or knowledge Not fond of crafting with your hands Nor baking things of sweetest taste You live for warrior lands A family stronger that the earth Never to leave your guarded home Or those you love, who cannot halt The worlds, forever doomed, they roam One, a princess, free to go From place to forlorn place Born beneath the golden boughs Beauty found in elven face Locks of gold unbridled And eyes of sea-swept blue The youngest seems your flawless match But the elder is for you Skilled in weaponry and war From sword to bow to knife Youll fight for love and longing Through dawn till noon and night Blood lost at a tender age But still you see life through Using every clever trick That life passed on to you Alone she stood but for a friend Great in legacy A sisters love that helped them through A time of shadowed dreams The second bears no sweet faade Subjected to untimely war Stripped of family and of hope Save a goddesss wish to soar Trained in every martial art Her strength is far from girlish skill She wields each blade with deadly gain Willing to fight and fight to kill With no resemblance to the kin she lost And none to those that she has gained Her is hair is dark, like burnished wood Her eyes sparkle with much the same Born far from our golden halls To an ancient Elvish line She bears no hint of adoration To many of our kind A strange quintet, yes that is true But therein lies the tie Forever shall they dwell at ease Under the starry skies To each his own they have true love Be it princess and the captain Or the youngest of the elven three And warrior from another land A love unbound for countless years Thats what the eldest share Though station sets them far apart They seem the perfect pair Two sides of one simple coin Gold and silver minds Each from the Hidden Land A greater joy youll never find The others share the self-same bond They dare not flee too far From love that calls them each to heart Through life and thought and stars Young and reckless, both are thus Forever they shall race From one end of the cosmic earth Till the journey they must face In truth the strangest of companions Held by ties that will not cease When life has passed to yonder shore And time is now a world of peace Haldir, captain of such great vigour Orophin, silent brilliance in disguise Rmil, youthful but valiant just the same Uruviel, wisdom with a childs heart Val-Hundra, final of the wicked five And most striking lover of the night. |
