| On 6/08/02, I went up to Bachelors Grove with Coy Scottberg and his dad. After having gone so many times before and each time seing the Newman grave dug up, I got sick and decided to take initiative (as should you all do). In the planning, I mentioned my idea to fill in the Newman grave and luckily, the idea was liked by all. Jim Scottberg bought 5-40lb bags of soil and he hauled them up to Bachelors Grove. I set up my camcorder and we got to work. Bag by bag, we dumped the soil in and sadly, it was not enough soil to fill in the grave completely. But what matters is that at least 3 people cared enough for the well-being of this place to bother to try and improve upon it! Since the chances of my going back anytime soon are somewhat unlikely, I urge you all to take the same initiative that we did today. if you like, fill in the Newman grave the rest of the way up. Plant a flower, take wax off of stones when you see it, pick up the bottles and littler you see there, hell, mow the damn place for all I care, just try to do something to improve Bachelors Grove. God knows that it is about time. Hopefully us three have set an example that many will follow up on. Bachelors Grove, the spirits residing there, and all who visit will appreciate it. |
