| Well, this story takes place in the woods behind Bachelors Grove. My two friends and I were walking through the woods and we came upon a clearing. We looked around and we saw this one tree that was pretty much fallen over. It was only hanging onto the ground by one or two very loose roots. It was leaning on a tree and we figured "what's the harm? " Please don't misinterprit his for vandalism...I am aggresively against it.Anyways, back to the story. The tree was going to fall over soom anyways so we figured we would knock it down. So me and my two friends got prepared and we started to shake the tree and shake it. Sure enough it fell over. It kinda hit my friend Jon on the chest on its way down. But that is just the beginning of this story. while we were marveling at our feat of stregnth, I noticed something carved onto the tree trunk. I told Jon and Eddie and we stood there reading what it said. "beware ho" There it was plain as day. But that isn't nearly as creepy as this, the words were carved in a place that was as if I had kneeled down and carved it myself. The positioning was so that it would be right in front of us when it fell over. As of 6/08/02, the tree can still be seen, as can the words, but however, the words are eroding away, and fast. So my advice is to go see it before it is gone. By my guess, it'll be unreadable in about 2 months, give or take a couple. Just walk past BG and take the path to your left. Follow the path faithfully and keep walking about 5-7 minutes. After several turns and after hopping over several trees lying there, you will see a change in tree density. The trees will get very spaced and you'll know it when you see it. The tree is just up and to the right. You might have to look around. as of 6/08/02, there is another tree fallen on it, but I moved it enough so that anyone who sees the log can read the words.As for the day I found it......I'll tell you this much, it made that day all the more interesting. |
