The following piece I wrote for Creative Writing back in high school...

Aurora

The moon retreats to her lonely corner of the Earth.  It is the sun's turn at glory.  She reaches up over the horizon to begin her day's work of bathing the land with her bright and luminous brilliance. She is generous in her giving of heat and light, but only to certain parts of the Earth at a time.  When one area retires from the long day, another stirs, anxiously awaiting the sun's shimmering magnificence.
Water glimmers beautifully, despite its earlier dark, deep blue hue.  Sea creatures play and encircle themselves in the glistening warmth of daylight.
Creatures of every shape and stature awake to the dawn of the approaching new day. Crystal like dew forms on the crisp leaves of surrounding vegetation and moistens the soil.  Diamonds of moisture sparkle and gleam, as the sun begins to rise. The brightness of the sun is well avoided until a comfortable amount of brightness can be withstood. Yawns spread across the land reminding the morn of a much-needed night's sleep.  A stretching frenzy breaks out, as the night critters snuggle up for another day's rest.  Many critters scurry about, in search of breakfast, to soothe the constant hunger for the early meal.
The sun watches quite charmed and amused by the race of hunger.  The hunger pains surge wildly, as one is quicker than the next to arrive at the portion.  Quietly, the smaller of the groups, eat hastily, cause this may be their last.  The more largely developed, consume their meals, watching cautiously of unsuspecting thieves.  Conflict may occur as a result of selfishness and greed.   Many times, this causes few to wait till a later meal.
Flowers re-bloom their closed, folded petals and smile at the sun friendly, greeting her usual arrival.  Trees seem to wave at the deliverer-of-light, with a breeze through their full, fresh branches of leaves.
Aurora, the goddess of dawn, silently awakens the regions that she sees fit to illuminate, with her gentle, tender caress.
                                                      Misery

The pain is blinding, yet allows us to see. It lets us see the miserable truth that theres is no meaning for it. We cause our own pain. No one can completely understand that pain, because they do not see it from our sole perspective. A few can see, but, not understand. They only see what they want to. Some can sympathesize, but only out of pity

You ignore the care that is shown, because you only focus on the pain, and how it could intensify beyond belief. You anger those who care because the pain begins to engulf your conscious mind and you can't help your actions or reactions.

The pain intensifies when we look away, and when we look back at the truth, it crushes and scars our hearts, but still it allows it them to beat.

Our hearts may begin to skip beats, but still have a normal rhythm. No one will notice, but the scarring obstructs the blood flow of our life. It slowly begins to cut off the supply as we die, choaking, on the anguish that flows through the veins of misery.

  Shreds

Weighing heavy are the fears,
Amongst the sadness, beyond the tears.
The pressure stirs and causes thee,
To no longer trust, wonder, or believe.
Understanding is not a state,
To know is to follow hate.
It confuses those who realize not.
The love that they seem to cherish so
Is of a realm, we dare not know.
Thoughts so many, few understood.
Wishing, hoping if only we only could.
Time takes its toll on our hearts.
And rips and shreds our minds apart.
