Aridah is a lecturer at the English Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Mulawarman University, Samarinda.  She completed her undergraduate study at the Institute of Teacher Training  and  Education  (IKIP)  at  Makassar in 1990 and earned her M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2000.
