Putting Children at the

This presentation shall present
some tensions faced by Indonesian children learning English as a foreign
language in school context by, first, outlining the existing socio-cultural
condition surrounding children in and out of school contexts. Some pedagogical
implications will be drawn to serve as a basis upon which to articulate
promises and challenges that teachers have in their attempt to teach English to
