Teaching and learning strategies have changed with the advance of Information
Technology (IT). The paper covers the use of the World Wide Web (WWW) in the
teaching of writing for High School students and the implementation of using
Internet facilities and how it is integrated into the English language lesson
strategies. In short, it describes the
use of IT within the students' learning tasks, in which some students’ characteristics
are being taken into consideration. The teacher uses the strategy to make the
students able to accomplish their tasks. The extensiveness of materials through
the internet is also taken into account by the teacher, giving the student some
hints of where the sites are in order to look or browse at. Some evaluation criteria
are used based on the National Curriculum standard, such as the capability of
summarizing/ paraphrasing a text and the grammatical mastery, in accordance
with the different learning approaches.
