The Handy Competence book is one of our innovations designed to transform the following key aspects of the competence based curriculum into actual practice :
1. The belief that process should be counted in evaluation
2. Education should be holistic and integrated
3. There is a need to transform students’ actual performance into a mark or grade
4. The indicators provided in the National Curriculum should be used.
The Book is intended to provide teachers with a clear traceable but practical evaluation process without ignoring any of the aspects that should be taken into consideration. This firsthand experience in designing, using and evaluating this book can be provide insights for other teachers, curriculum designers and researchers for bridging the gap between the ideal curriculum and the reality in the community. This Handy Competence Book has been used for years in our school; every single thing about it is unique.
