CALL, CALT, and CALR: A Hands-on Experience

Dedy Setiawan

CALL which stands for Computer-Assisted Language Learning has been so-far the most widely used term for language learning (including teaching) utilizing a computer set as the main equipment. As learning as differentiated from teaching, especially when the presentation stage is enhanced, the term CALT (Computer-Assisted Language Teaching) is now arising. In addition, as teacher is often involved in investigating the behavior of the language taught, we may come up with the term CALR (Computer-Assisted Language Research) this paper presents a hands-on experience, which the writer has performed as a learner, teacher, and researcher of English as a foreign language.
