| A cooperative preschool is a group of families organized to provide their children with a quality preschool experience. Parents participate in the classroom and manage the school on a non-for-profit and non-sectarian basis. Greeting time/Opening circle (9:00 - 9:15): Starting off our day with a good morning song, assigning jobs, discussing the activities for the day. Exploration/Discovery time (9:15- 10:15): Arts and crafts, painting activities, imaginative play (dress up and pretend), building with blocks, etc., manipulatives, story writing, reading stories, and puzzles, will be available on a daily basis. Clean-up (10:15-10:20) Clean up work areas with encouragement for cooperation and a Music time/Second circle (10:20 - 10:35) Large group activity of songs, movement and dance, finger plays and poems. Wash-up (10:35-10:40) Bathroom break with an emphasis on the importance of hand washing. Snack time (10:40 - 11:00) Fresh fruit, crackers, cheese, veggies and on occasion, snacks prepared by the children as a math/science activity are served w/ water. Outside play (11:00 - 11:30) Outdoor play on playground with a variety of age appropriate equipment and materials. Sharing/Story time (11:30 -12:00) Large group activity books, flannel board, story telling and a wide variety of choice book, selected according to the project or interest of the children.
