I'm doing an "About Me" page, because I think it's important people understand where I am coming from, in order to help them decide if they think the things I have to say are worth anything.

For starters, I have always worked alone and have never gone through what most people would consder serious training from a teacher. I've always prefered reading books, reading websites, talking to my rl friends who are also Wiccan or neo-pagan, and working things out for myself.

I have a degree in History & Classics, and I have always had a strong preferance to doing reasearch and learning things for myself. I currently work almost full-time at the local University, so this is something that has stuck with me.

I am a big sf and fantasy fan, including things like the Harry Potter books. I love animals, in partiuclar cats, which is one of the main reasons why I like the Egyptan goddess Bast and have her as one of my main dieties. I tend to have strong leanings towards Celtic gods and goddesses, as well as Egyptain gods and goddesses.

I wouldn't describe myself as being very serious about the way I view neo-paganism, as I don't beleive there is only one of doing things and just because one person believes in one particular way of doing things doesn't mean that's the *only* way of doing it. (It doesn't mean it's the wroung way either, I prefer to believe that there are multiaple correct ways of things).

That said, the only parts of modern Wicca, neo-pagans and the New Age movement are things that get too extreme for my comfort. I'm thinking along the lines of fairys and other magical creatures like mermaids/dragons/etc. Personally, I'm starting to head into the group that use different theortical pysics ideas to explain things.

Links to a few non-neo-pagan sites I enjoy:-
The Harry Potter Lexicon
Gaia Online - a roleplaying site
Snopes - Urban Legends Reference Page
Dilbert
www.acad.dynip.com:23 - a telnet site where I play Legend of the Red Dragon, LoRD, most days.
