Tallin doesn't feel like Eastern Europe, more like Scandanavia, even though there are still lots of Russians there.
The old town is good, although there are hundreds of tourists around the walls and cathedrals.
A walk in the woods a few miles outside the town is good, especially out to the TV tower for something to eat.
The shops have weird stuff including a Soviet joke book (sample joke starts Stalin, Brezhnev and Khruschchev are on a train...)
There is also a pub dedicated to Depeche Mode for a drink. Cheerful!
