| Uncle Ron?
Yes, Daisy? Wheres your aunt? My aunt? Yeah! Your aunt! Darling, what are you talking about? Harry and Ginny had dropped Daisy off at Rons for the night on request by Ron. He had been so lonely the past few days in his house that he needed some kind of livelihood to lighten up. Daisy was the perfect answer for that. It was now the next morning and the two were talking over breakfast. They had done all things imaginable the night before and Daisy had fallen asleep on the broom ride home. You know! Uncle Fred has Aunt Angelina, and Uncle George has Aunt Katie. Wheres your aunt? Ron was startled into silence. Not only was it evident to his brother-in-law that he was lonely and misplaced, but to his four-year-old niece? There was obviously something seriously wrong. Well, Daisy, he paused, not sure how to answer. My aunt he looked around for anything to help him, anything. He was desperate. I dont have an aunt right now because Why? Wheres your aunt? I want an aunt! Daisy, you have five! She was bubbling into tears. But, I want an aunt! Ron wasnt sure what to do. He rushed to his nieces side and picked her up off the chair. He held her while she cried. I know you want an aunt, darling, he soothed. And I want one too, he sighed, feeling worse by the second. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit longer to get things you want, he began, knowing he was off to a good start, and when you get them it makes it even better! He set her down and knelt in front of her as she wiped her large, green eyes. She had obviously inherited them from Harry. Okay? Okay, she then brightened up instantly. Now this she had gotten from Ginny. Can you get an aunt soon? And a cousin too? Ron sputtered and then started to laugh. He pulled Daisy into a hug and proceeded to tickle her until they were on the floor, out of breath. The door opened and Ginny stepped in. Daisy picked her head up. MUMMY! she belted, standing up and throwing her arms around her legs once she got to her. Was she any trouble? Ginny asked after patting her daughter on the head. Ron had propped himself up on his elbows, still lying on the floor. Nope, none at all. A rather sweet, innocent, little child. Are you sure you didnt adopt her? Ginny threw her wand at him and walked with Daisy at her side toward Ron. Look, I need you to get up. Why? Because, I have to talk to you. Ron nodded concernedly, heaving himself off of the kitchen floor and sitting in one of the chairs. Whats going on? Ginny turned to her daughter and asked, Will you go play for a few minutes honey? Mum and Uncle Ron have to talk about grown up things. Daisy nodded excitedly, hurrying off to the other room where Ron had kept her toys. Ron gazed at his sister. So, are you going to tell me whats going on? Ginny sighed, swiveling to face Ron and he watched as her expression turned grave. He instantly jumped to conclusions. Something happened to Harry something happened to them to one of his brothers his parents Ive been out to lunch today, with an old friend. Ron noticed how she faltered on the words old friend. And we were discussing something that I was allowed to talk to you about. Ron frowned, but listened for her to continue. Um what do you last remember about she lowered her voice and mumbled fast, Hermione? The sheer mention of that name sent a shock through his entire body. What are you saying? Is Hermione here? Yes, but, Ron Shes in the country, Ginny? How long has she been here? Since July, but, Ron Ron was on his feet, hysterical. He was almost ready to burst. Is it just you that knew, or did everyone in the family know but me? I need to see her, Ginny, you dont understand! You dont understand what its like to live your life every single day longing for the person you love. You werent stupid and let her go. I was and now shes within my reach and youre trying to coax me out of a fit? Ginny stood up and went to comfort her brother. She walked up behind him and put her hands gently on his back to calm him. She felt his frame heave and up and down beneath her hands. Can I please tell you whats going on? He nodded. Shes come back, Ron. Shes come back to stay. He blinked tears out of his eyes and turned to look at his sister. Are you serious? Yes, she said softly, wiping her brothers tears off of his face. She owled me almost a month ago and I told her that I wanted to see her. We had lunch today, and she told me everything. Oh, Ron, Ginnys eyes flooded with tears. So many things have happened in eleven years shes broken. She wants back in, she wants her life Shes not married? Not anymore. Ron looked up slowly. Anymore? Why dont you talk to her yourself? Ron backed away from his sister and sat down at the kitchen table. He put his head in his hands and sighed heavily. He wasnt ready to believe all this yet; no matter how much he had actually hoped it would happen. Theres just something Ginny said slowly. But Im sure she doesnt want me telling you. |
