Cass?

The blonde head whirled around. Misty blue eyes stared at Sirius imploringly. He could tell by the look on her face that shed been crying for a few hours. It killed him. She didnt move for several minutes as she stared at him. She cried more tears and her trembling pink lips formed the word, Sirius?

His feet were planted in one spot. All he could do was breathe heavily. Everything about her made him come alive. Why was it that she kept running when she was in love with him, but knew hed always love her, despite this Curse?

Cassie, listen to me for two minutes, he begged.

She looked down and let tears drip down her already wet cheeks. She was going to speak, but didnt know what exactly she was going to say.

Sirius stepped closer to her, his insides absolutely aching to touch her. He needed to be holding her, kissing her, loving her like hed done. Being that intimate with her once was enough. He knew deep down that hed die happy if he could be with her like that every single night.

You dont know how much I love you, he said, in a voice that sounded so desperate it brought tears to his eyes. You have no idea how much it hurts me to look at you, knowing I cant have you. You dont know how weak my knees get when I look into those ice blue eyes. You cant even imagine how knotted my stomach gets when you smile, that shy way of letting me know you love me too. A-And you dont even see the tears in my eyes every time I touch you. Dont you
see?

Cassie put her hands over her face and bawled. Sirius! I cant see! I cant! You know why!

No, I really dont, he whispered. He sat to her level, but moved no closer. So what if some rotten bastard put a Curse on you?

Sirius, Im scared.

Of what?

Im scared you wont want me after learning all of this, Im scared of losing you, and Im scared to love someone so completely that theres a chance I may lose them.

You Sirius felt the tears welling in his eyes. He had to stop and lift his hand to cover his face. You still dont get it. I love you. Nothing, absolutely
nothing is going to change that. Not even the fact that you cant have children. Do you think that changes anything?

But, Sirius, you want children, a family! You told me!

I want
you.

Cassie sobbed loudly, brushing her hair out of her face. Her cheeks were red and her eyes were bloodshot. I cant believe you can say that after everything

Youve been through? he finished. Dont you get it? I can say it because I really mean it. When I held you last night, Cass, I knew that it felt right. For one moment, my world was perfect.

I love you so much, Sirius, Cassie said. Everything was perfect when you held me.

Then lets stop all this running, he said, crawling close to her slowly. Lets quit this tedious game of cat and mouse. We both love each other, we know how well we fit together, and you that I will never hurt you. Cass, Ive been chasing you for over three years and Ive never given you any reason to doubt my love for you, have I? She shook her head. Have I given you any reason to believe that I will hurt you? She shook her head again.

He was now close enough to see right into her eyes. He put his hands on her face gently and lifted it to within an inch of his own. She wanted to smile, but her tears were still too many. She reached her hands up and covered Sirius.

I love you, completely and wholly, into the depths of your soul, deep within ever part of my being.

Cassie closed her eyes and smiled widely. Sirius, I-

Sirius put his finger over her lip delicately and stared deep into her eyes, surveying every emotion and admiring every sparkle. His dark brown eyes traced the lines her of creamy face, taking in her scent and drinking in her presence.

I cant even begin to express my love to you, he sighed. And I want to spend forever doing it.

Cassie frowned.

I want you to be my wife. I want to make sure you never run away from me again. If you were to become Mrs. Sirius Black, there would be nothing I couldnt do. When I met you, Cass, something changed in me. You made everything worth it, and I came to myself. I love you and I never want to let you go. Will you marry me?

She stared at him for a few minutes, her mouth hanging open in shock.

Sirius felt tears streaming down his face. She wasnt answering. She couldnt even speak.

Cass, I dont know what more I can give you. Only a promise that-

Sirius, she whispered, placing her fingers on his lips this time. I would absolutely love nothing more than to marry you.

Sirius mouth dropped open and he let his hands move behind Cassies head. He brought his lips to hers and united them sweetly. He couldnt help thinking about how warm and wonderful her lips felt underneath his, but what excited him beyond anything was knowing these lips would be his forever.
