| In the 1950's the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Poor saw that many young girls in the El Paso area needed an alternative education that would provide them with a Christian, qualified and affordable education to secure them with jobs while attending post secondary education. Father Yermo High School was founded in 1960 to respond to this ideal. Father Yermo has expanded to include an elementary school with grades 2nd - 8th and an early learning center located at 616 S. Virginia for grades Pre-Kinder, Kinder and 1st. The school promotes the Catholic principles of education by providing students with a Christian atmosphere in a family climate that foaters self-esteem, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and theical growth to enable them to create their own synthesis between life, faith, and culture. |
