| Our Lady of Assumption School opened its doors in 1958, in curtained-off partitions in the rear of the church. Father Daniel Thistle was then the pastor and the founder of the school. In the fall of 1959, students and teachers moved from the church to the modern new structure now the present location of the school. The school is currently administered by the Sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ. The school provides an education with a mission, the curriculum promotes an educational climate in which students are prepared for the future through programs aimed at academic excellence, computer literacy, cultural enrichment, self-discipline, self-esteem, vocation, respect, and Christian service. Our lady of Assumption is often called "The Treasure at the Foot of the Mountain" because of its family atmosphere. |
