poems

here's some poems and poems/songs i've written. 3 of them have a pretty dark twist to them. hopefully they won't leave you too disturbed(lol) i'll put more up later, including some happier ones

this first one is a poem/song. i was inspired by the doors "people are strange" song in writing it.

"wake up, your nightmare begins"

wake up!
burn the coffee away
drink the cigarette smoke down
and "catch the dream"
though you know it will end
at nightmare st.

(chorus x2)
cause nightmares are pretty
cause nightmares are funny

living the short day
aching the long night
cause nightmares are here again

(chorus x2)

the dreams they just fade
and pass away
cause youre only ticket
is on the 'nightmare train'

(chorus x4)

the absinthian deception(in the absence of truth and purpose)

how heavy the burdens
when gravity is turned
upside-down

no reason to care
when it's empty gifts
overflow

the bell of life and purpose
fallen
under the hazy grey
void sky

nothing
to toll for
or to tell

when hell is heaven
and heaven is hell

death(the immaculate and holy clock of humankind's doom)

an immense phantasmagoric specter
the clock tower of death
looms hauntingly before you

immovable and impassable
it stands tauntingly

framed in a stark, bare
landscape of grave despair

every person, society and civilization
along with their most vital efforts
lay before it entombed
in it's all encompassing dominion

to many a god or shrine
they sacrifice and worship
for the delusons of power and control

you hear it-
louder and louder
as each year passes

you see it-
nearer and nearer
as each year passes

ringing in your head-
better off dead???

it's architecture-
dizzyingly complex
and impregnable
impossibly nonsensical

it's ticks and tocks-
echoes of it's will
indomitably tensile
rigid insistence on the futile

it's midnight stroke
ever approaching
inexorably and inevitably
towards your doom
inescapable

this next one is also a poem/song. it might go well as a kind of Guys and Dolls' musical number. the name "pretty patty pity" is a fictional name I created. this poem/song definitely has a comedic feel to it.

pretty patty pity

fake! fake! fake!
they scoff
shake! shake! shake!
it off

oh what a
(chorus)
pretty petty pity!
pretty petty pity!
that old-
pretty patty pity!!

you'll find her
only in the city!
(chorus)
only in the city!
only in the city!
pretty patty pity!!

bright neon lights!
stupid tights!
long lonely nights!
schizo's delight!
it's our right!

(chorus)
only in the city!
only in the city!
pretty patty pity!!

seats fill!!
(chorus)
what a bill overkill!!

seats empty!
(chorus)
what a thrill overkill!!

pockets fill!!
(chorus)
what a bill overkill!!

pockets empty!
(chorus)
what a thrill overkill!!

only in the city!
only in the city!
pretty patty pity!!

(chorus)
find her dirty cheating craft!!
find her dirty lying craft!!
find their epitaphs!!
everywhere!!

pretty patty pity!!
(chorus)
not just in the city!
not just in the city!
not just in the city!

(chorus)
pretty patty pity!!

pretty patty pity!!

not to be to over analytical of this one but you can see the similarities in the ideas behind it to society's obsession, idolization and glorification of the outside appearance and other frivolous shit.

that ideology, for lack of a better term, has now obviously spread practically everywhere in the last few decades(the media is definitely a huge factor in doing it), to the point where it's now become a "worldwide promotion" of virtually only this toxic soul and mind shit. so something to think about is how you can individually(and in other ways try) to change it.
