My project idea is to create a store called: Chemical Love. It is meant to be a spa/massage/makeup store. Obviously, the products that you use for makeup/spa/and makeup are all made from various chemicals. However, I wanted to combine this obvious fact with a more dreamy factor to make the name more interesting and somewhat fun. The love in the name has to do with loving oneself by applying these products and making oneself feel better. I envison that the company would be situated in downtown New York in a storefront. This way, people can just come up and soak in the atmosphere. The store is based on three main colors: white, purple-blue, and lime green. Most of the walls will be white, and there will be large wall panels and furniture that are in purple-blue and lime green. The reason I chose the purple-blue and the white is because these two colors are pretty soothing, and look pure. The green is to add a funky chemical feel and to make it look more trendy and lively. I think that these colors work pretty well together because while green and purple-blue are both cool colors, the lime green has more of a yellow component, so it stands out relatively well.
The logo that I am going to use throughout is very simple: a circle with a heart in it. This logo represents a bubble coming out of the chemical solution and the heart symbolizes the love aspect of the potion. In using this logo, I can implement a circle theme throughout the store. I would like to have small curtains made of colored glass/plastic circles, and rugs that have circle patterns on the floor.
As for the clients, I believe that they will mostly be young to middle aged women. The cost for the spa and massage will probably be relatively high, so it would probably appeal more to a slightly older age group.
