One of the values they have taught us is simplicity. They've said us that in
a world which invites us to satisfy all our wishes, it's necessary to take away
the superfluous, and to live with which is necessary.
That the rich have to live with less so the poor can live too.
The life of a human being only has sense when you use your life to help others.
This is what happiness is like. We could summit this with the following words:
"I was sleeping and dreaming that life was happy. I woke up and realized
that life is about helping others. I started to help others and realized that
helping is happiness!!!!"
We've also talked about superfluous things that are luxuries. anything that
is more than we need. It isn't useful or necessary.
Commercials and propaganda have changed wishes and necessities. The wish to
posses, which is a tendency with which we were born, worsened by propaganda
and that's why there are people who live super fluently. They consume a lot,
while we are in a situation in which we are destroying earth.
They've told us that the convenient is something that could be useful in our
lives but isn't elemental. Like having a house at the beach, and like travelling
by plane while you could travel by train, etc.
The necessary on the other hand are things that serve our primary needs, like
housing, food, education, clothes, health, etc.
Simplicity convinces us to posses only what we need, and that someone who has
less isn't poor when he doesn't want more.
Finally the indispensable is anything we can't do without, like water (and there
are people who don't have water), food (there are people who eat very little
and sometimes nothing), and elemental medical attention.
We have learned that when we live simple and believe in human quality, we are
protecting our life, because when the life of the majority of the people is
threatened, our life is threatened too.
What we need is great passion in anything we do, because we can't succeed in
life, nor change the direction of our own life without a great passion.
In our life we have to help other people, in agreement with our age, and we
have to live only with what we need, we have to give love to others, and we
have to share generously. A simple life begins with giving love to others and
with being conscious of the beauty of the world around us. That's how we will
be able to learn austerity, equilibrity, simplicity and beauty.
Happiness isn't only about money, people who are free of the wish to possess
as much as possible will be happy.
Being poor isn't a strength but a lack. Generosity, compassion, solidarity and
freedom are strengths.
When I give I will have less, but I will feel much better. Being simple is being
human, humble and near to others.
