Symington, Gray, Marjoribanks and Young
Margaret Symington born c. 1783 in Berwick, England  died 1857 at Galashiels in Selkirkshire - married to John/William Gray
Margaret's known siblings -
Hannah Symington born c. 1797 at Greenlaw, Berwickshire died Galashiels, Selkirkshire in 1870 - single

George Symington born c. 1796 at Greenlaw, Berwickshire died Galashiels, Selkirkshire 1856 - single

James Symington born c. 1800 at ?
died March, 1856 at Eyemouth, Berwickshire. He was a Blacksmith married to a Mary ?  He is buried in Eyemouth graveyard.
On Margaret's death details it states she was the daughter of William Symington, farmer and Sarah Marjoribanks.  It is possible this is an error on the part of her son in law Thomas Taylor who was the informant.  On George's death certificate it states "informant Elizabeth Taylor, not present"
and George's mother is given as Sarah Margoribanks (as spelled).  On Hannah's death the same Elizabeth Taylor, Margaret's daughter, was the informant and she gives the mother as Sarah
Young. I am inclined to suspect the mother to be Sarah Young.

This is because in Greenlaw cemetery there is a stone which says "In memory of Margaret Marjorbanks who died Nov. 1808 aged 78 years. the children of William Symongton her son, carrier in Greenlaw, Sarah who died in infancy 4.4.1805, William who died 21.6.1813 aged 13 years, William Symongton who died 25.4.1821 aged 70 years".  I have not proved that this William is Margaret's father but a likely contender I would say.  I think Thomas may have been mixing Elizabeth's maternal grandmother up with her maternal great grandmother.

William Symington was a farmer at "Buncle", BEW.
