Sergeant Hauptman graduated from Horseheads High School in 1984 and attended SUC at Fredonia. Prior to being hired by the EHPD in 1997, Officer Hauptman worked plain clothes Security for Hill's Department Stores as well as security for the Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital and for Chemung County 911 Dispatch. Officer Hauptman graduated from session XIV of the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy, where he was a class leader. Officer Hauptman's duties include Calibration recertifications for radar and breath test instruments, as well as sealing cases. Officer Hauptman is married and has two children.
