1.a. Define ‘climax’ in drama with reference to the critic who first had used  

             this term.; name the title of that critical work. How do climaxes of   

             Dr  Faustus ,  A Doll’s House, Oedipus The King,  and   Pygmalion   

            affect  the contents and styles of  these four  plays?

1.b.    Who are the heroines in these four plays? ( Names)

1.c.  What is the original language- poetry or prose- each play was written          

            in?     What is the difference between these two : poetic or prose 

            language  in drama? Elaborate.

1.d   Define ‘ tragic flaw’ , ‘tragic mistake’ –or Hamartia . Use Dr Faustus  to 

           illustrate your definitions

 

1.e.What are the kinds of stage in Renaissance England? Elaborate.

2.f. Define  ‘prologue’ and ‘Chorus’ in Greek drama. What is the language (       

          French , English , Ancient Greek, and the like) and the date of 

          publication ( be specific) of Dr Faustus  ?  Use examples from Dr          

          Faustus  to   illustrate   your    definition of prologue and chorus.
