Home
Oct 9th: We left Connecticut four days after the family gathering  and returned to Johannes sister Judy & Don's in Pennsylvania.  While there we, Johanne, Judy and myself met our niece Annie at her father-in-law Franks house for a visit.   Franks health was deteriorating and he passed away this May (2009).
2008
.Nov 2nd: We had arranged to meet with the mortgage company at his office.  (This was a Sunday) where we signed the papers and were approved for the mtge  the same day.
.Oct 16th: We arrive in Palmetto, Georgia and book two nights  at this mobile home park not far from Peachtree City.  We wound up spending a full week here.
Our purpose for staying in this area was to research the possibliity of a place to settle when the time comes.
We spent time researching the area and determined it was not  especially to our liking, even tho' it is close to Atlanta and the homes are fairly nice but a little out of our price range.
      So we moved on................
Oct 14th: This night in a fairly nice Jellystone park in Natural Bridge Station VA.
Oct 15th: S. Carolina.
Oct 13th: we spent the weekend there (Dunmore, PA)  and left on Monday, heading south, spending the night at Keystone RV just off I-81 at the PA - MD border.
.  The closing was set for Dec 1st, but since we had reservations at a campground in Summerfield, Florida we told them we would not attend the actual closing but deal with it by Fed EX,
.Oct 23: A nice 110 mile ride to Perry, GA and Fair Harbor RV park.  Our reason for stopping here is to have the rear left basement door replaced and to have the cracking fiberglass looked at.  This is the area that had been repaired last spring when the new door was ordered.
So we made an appointment for next week to turn the RV into the shop for the repairs.
.Oct 31st: After returning to look at the model homes for four days in a row...we liked one particular model at first, but finally we commited to buy the model home that the realtor is using for an office, because it had the floor plan that we liked best.
So, on Halloween 2008 we signed the papers to buy a house.
The following day, the realtor had been planning a gathering (a party) for the residents to get together and meet each other.and have a steak dinner.  Of course we were invited too.
So this was the first party in OUR NEW HOUSE with 40 people and we didn't even have to do the dishes.  I hope we never have that many people at one time in our house again  BUT, company is welcome.
.Oct 28th: We turn in the RV and move into the LaQuinta in Warner Robins again.
The first room was a little on the tight side so I went and requested a larger room with a couch since we would be there for awhile.
Of course while we are here, we revisit the 55 and over community (Cobblestone Crossing)  that we liked during our visit in March.  We note there are many more homes up since spring..
.Nov 5th: The Mid-State RV body shop had finished installing the new basement door and repairing the rear cap fiberglass and repainting...now the RV was transferred to the repair shop to have a bad pully bearing replaced and temporary repair for a leak at one of the slide outs.  We told the shop we would turn the RV in for the slide repair and to fix a couple of leaks when we returned  and moved into the house.
.Nov 7th: We picked up the RV and headed to Florida stopping for the night at Lake City, Florida and continuing the next morning to Summerfield.
.Nov 8th: Arriving at Southern Oaks RV Park where we had reserved a site for the winter when we left last March.
We told them we had bought a home and would only be staying until the 8th of January.
So we settled in for our stay.  Visiting and playing cards or dominos with Aunt Peggy, Arnie, Jeanette and Fred as we had the last two years and doing our runs to Walmart, Publix and Walgreens as usual.  Also the doctor visits, flu shot and of course our visiting various restaurants as well.
.Nov 14th:  Linda & Larry Muncy were leaving the campground in Winter Park, FL and would be passing by us so we arranged to meet and have lunch with them and tour The Villages
.Dec 3rd: We met with our RV friends, Bob & Linda Timko in the town of Mount Dora, FL.    We walked the town, looking in all the shops (not buying anything) and finally had lunch at The Gables Restaurant.  A quaint little eating place that we had visited once before with Aunt Peggy.
.Nov 27th & 28th:  On Thanksgiving day Johanne, Arnie and I went to Aunt Peggy's for dinner.  I made sauce at the RV and brought it  Her sister Jeannette had Thanksgiving dinner on Friday to accomodate her son and his family. We were all invited to join them for turkey and.....It was all good, as usual.
