The entire script was the result of a game of castle, basicly a complex improve act.
At one point, Francis and Uncle Harold were both supposed to be vampires.
Thomas origonally made animal sounds as well as speeking jibberish.
In the origonal version, Francis had two cousins coming to visit. Chritina's brother Christopher was cut from the film version, save for a breif comment by Edward.
At the feast Theodorus was accused of improper attire, for he arrived wearing only a cape and an ornate sheild. I had to explain that the rest of his attire was implied by my geans and t-shirt.
When we started writing the script, Edward and Harold were both intended to be played by Sam. We later removed him from the part of Uncle Harold and allowed them to start appearing in the same scenes.
Uncle Harold and The Medusa were both cast the day of their first scenes. Thank you Josh, you did a wonderful job as Harold. And Dad, well, you were better than forcing Sam to double up. I think he would have caused us great pain if we'd pulled him back onto set on one of his days off.
