We have a small kennel on a farm of about 3 acres. Our property is totally fenced in so our Shelties have the run of the land. We have kennels for our Shelties but we try to use them sparingly as our dogs are very active.
We spend lots of time with our Shelties and their puppies socializing and playing with them.
Our dog's enter the house when they want through the doggy door that we installed. They are well behaved and we have had very little problems with this set up.
Our puppies are born inside and stay in our bedroom till they are about 3 weeks old.
Then we move them to the living area where we put a large whelping box that we built. They have a bed area, potty area, play area and feeding area. We do the basic paper training before they leave us.
All our dogs are vaccined and wormed on a regular basis as well as recieving Frontline for flea prevention. All our dogs and puppies see a professional vet on a regular basis.
We love what we do with our Sheltie's and enjoy the puppies very much. We can't imagine a life without a Sheltie around. We believe that they are the perfect all round breed of dog.
We have many children around as well as other types of animals (horses, goats, chickens, fish and birds) and we have never had a problem yet.
