| 01.03.05 Well, not written anything for ages! Been trying to write new songs, but PhD kind of getting in the way. Played a gig with Tom in Watts, Cupar on Saturday - really disappointing turnout :( Need to write new songs..... 11.12.04 Just back from gig at Union, supporting the Aphrodisiacs and Motormark. Was a mad night, we played a mixed acoustic and electric set....Chris played bass, he only had a couple of hours to learn the songs on Thursday, but he was "awsome"!! Wasn't the best we've ever played, the sound was a bit off, but had such a good laugh, and really enjoyed playing with Tom and Chris - you guys are amazing!! Things can only get better, no? Thanks Mark for all the hanging around you did, you are amazing, and Ally, my big bro, for finally coming to see me sing! I'm gonna write a new song tomorrow.... 03.12.04 Ah, the Aquarium ball...Thanks Tom for a great set on the drums tonight, and thanks Gavin and ?Andrew (sorry, I am so bad for names...!!) for you greatness. Yeah! 02.12.04 Well, just back from Tom's where we have been jamming in his FREEZING COLD garage for the past 3 hours. Decided to stop when a.) I kept dropping my plectrum cos my hands were so cold I couldnt feel my fingers, and b.) Neighbours was about to start...So, after 3 hours, we are pleased to announce that...Elliot is going electric, wohooo!! Well, sort of. Going to do an electric and acoustic mix hopefully at the gig tomorrow night, although not exactly had much time to practice! Tom worked out the drum parts for 4 songs. Hmm, could be interesting. And now I must do lots and lots of work. Pooo :( Question: is it really bad to raid your advent calendar for chocolate when you have a choc craving? 29.11.04 Hmmm...why am I writing in here. It's cos it's a new website, I'll soon get fed up with it though, so shall write while I am at least semi-inspired...Anyway...so not been getting much PhD work done recently cos so excited about music and stuff. So decided to have an all-nighter and try and get lots of my chapter written. Hmm, its currently 22.46...I'll see how it goes!! Really want to go to Dundee tomorrow with Sven who is going to take a look at basses. I want to go and buy an effects pedal. But if I do then I definately wont get any work done in the morning cos I'll be in Dundee, then wont get any done for the rest of the day cos I'll be wanting to play with my pedal. Aye, the toils that Elliot must face! Just been to the Jahangir for a curry, was very tasty, but not as tasty as Edinburgh curries :) Ok, enough waffle, why are you reading this? 28.11.04 Well, just back from gig at Aikmans. It was an odd night. It seemed to go by really fast, and I don't think I played too great :( The sound was a bit odd and kept thinking that my guitar was out of tune, arse :( Thanks so much to Debs and Fiona who came to see me though, it means so much to me, I don't think that people realise how much! And to Jim, and Chris, and Sven and Tina - you are all so amazing, and I'm so lucky to know you all. Ok, enough soppyness!!! So KC played amazing as usual (I was so worried you guys would be pissed at me for playing 2nd, hope it worked out ok in the end...) and Tom had a cracking set as usual too!!! I thinkI just feel a bit odd at the moment and I'm not sure why. Think I will start taking my anti-phschotic drugs again.................I may be joking there, I'll leave it to anyone reading this to figure it out, hee hee!! Seriously though, things are weird at the moment, I think that something odd is happening in the world!! Ok, Elliot has much tiredness, off to bed....... 27.11.04 As I sit in my room and type this, I am praying that I am doing this webpage right and that it actually works.....Anyway, I type on the eve of a gig I am playing as Elliot tomorrow night at Aikmans, St Andrews, accompanied by my very good friends, Tom Ingham, and Dave and Kate from Kid Canaveral. Kind of stressing about it actually because I have so much work to do at the moment!! I have so many gigs coming up at the moment it seems, and it's all been happening very quickly. I have to thank a lot of that to Dave Kid C - cheers mate! And also thanks to Tom for collaborating on violin with me...it was getting a bit lonely with just me and the old acoustic! Anyway, here's to a successful webpage for Elliot, and a successful year in music.... |
