Wacky Grid

In art class, we're learning about how to make an object 3D and to draw
reflections. We drew a still life of a bunch of cups and bowls first,
learning that the upper lip of the bowl and the lower lip are the same.
After we finished this lesson, we moved on to sketching reflections
into the bowls looking at portraits of people that artists have already
drawn. We folded the pictures into 16 pieces, and then piut grid lines
on the cup and drew the picture into the grid squares, creating
distortion. After we finished sketching we learned how to make the
picture look even more 3D by using hot colors and cool colors to
show temperature. The cool colors were in the shadows and the hot
colors were used on the outside of the bowl, to show where the light
hits the bowl and where the light finishes. We used colored pencils to
color. Finally. after many many classes of hard work we did the table,
creating a checkered table cloth. We also learned about the vanighing
point to make the table look like it can go on and on, making the
picture look like you could step into it and touch the bowls. In the
end I think that everyone's wacky grids turned out great!
