Roppongi
Hills Refelction

Roppongi Hills is very big
place with many exhibitions going on inside. We went to the Da
Vinci exhibition and we went to look at the city views, Art
Museum and City models. However, I didn’t have enough time to
go
to the city models so I will just talk about the other three places
that I went to during this field trip.
First I went to the the city
views. When I looked at Tokyo I saw that the skyline in Tokyo is
changing. Before, the buildings weren’t as tall as they are
now.
You could tell the difference between the shorter houses that are brown
and older looking to the sparkling shiny enormous buildings that cast a
shadow over the smaller buildings. Now. more and more tall buildings
are going up and fewer and fewer greenery is there anymore.
That means that certain animals will have to find a new
habitat
and more and more pollution will go up into the air. In ten years I
think that Tokyo will look a little different then it does
now. I
think that more taller buildings will be up and less greenery will be
there. All those parks will slowly disappear. Also more people will be
living in Tokyo so that Tokyo will be even more over populated then it
already is. This is bad because without trees and plants the
air
won’t be as pure and fresh and the fact that we
will have
more pollution won’t help the fact either. Since a big
earthquake
is supposed to happen some time in Tokyo, having these tall buildings
is a very bad idea. The tall buildings won’t be as stable
and if they fall, they won’t just crush the people in the
building, but also the people around the building. Smaller buildings
would be more stable and when they fall, they won’t kill as
many
people as a tall and big
building.
The Da Vinci exhibition had many things about Da Vinci in it.
There was paintings, inventions, and his notes. I think that the
intention of this exhibit was to show people what type of things that
Leonardo Da Vinci could do, and I think it was also to show people his
work when he was alive. I personally think that the exhibit wasn't that
interesting. Da Vinci himself is very interesting, but I never really
liked to go around and look at pieces of artwork or notes that are
behind these thick slabs of glass. My favorite part was the paintings
because I wanted to see if any of the things that they mentioned in The
Da Vinci Code would be in the paintings, like the Last Supper. Also, I
found the Mona Lisa kind of creepy. Where ever you go, her eyes follow
you, it's really eerie, however I like to try and guess what she's
smiling
at. I think that this shows that Da Vinci is a genius because
of
the way that he does things. Like his paintings have these hidden
secrets in them and messages. It makes you think that he really knew
what he wanted people to feel and thin when he was painting them. It's
like he planed it or something. He also must have really thought about
his ideas and how to out them in his artwork as well. By looking at Da
Vinci's notes makes you also realize that he was smart. He wrote
backwards because he was left handed and to wrote back wards made it
easier for him, or so people thought. The little diagrams and noted
just made it look like he really knew what he was doing. Lastly, the
water inventions we made were very interesting. I didn't really get the
one where you put the different shaped shapes in the flow of the water,
but I knew it must have been interesting since all the people who could
understand it were lining up to try it. I really liked the invention
that when you pumped the
pump the water vibrations showed on the reflection of the
water,
but not in the water's itself. Again, I didn't know exactly what was
happening but I found it amusing anyways.
In the Art Museum my favorite photograph was of the two
manatee
under the water. I really like it because I like manatee's but also
because the picture looked so peaceful and calm. The mother manatee was
like shielding the baby and the rays of the sun was shining, you could
see it because the manatee weren't that deep in the water. I was really
pretty and was an amazing shot to me.
I thought that this exhibit was pretty good. I also liked the
one
of the really long picture of all the warriors. It was very
interesting. I like to looks at pictures much more then museums, but
even
then I get a little bored. I thought that the different
lighted
screens were kind of weird. I don't know what they were or what they
were for, but there was this buzzing sound in that room. Also, the
first room where all the pictures of shapes in different lighting
wasn't that interesting as well. I guess though, overall the exhibit
was okay. I think that this artist could become a famous artist because
I really like the way that he or she could really get the effect of
light in their picture. That was something that I remember thinking to
myself as I walked through the museum. Also, I like how this artist
could take a picture of something really well but also could draw
really well. Those huge portraits at the end were amazing. If this
artist didn't take any photographs then I would be even more amazed
because I think those pictures in the beginning were photographs, but
if they're not, this person has a lot of talent. I'm saying this
because when I looked at those in more detail, I could see
every
bit of texture in there. This artist could become very famous.
