Physical Anthropology Final Project
The final project for this course involves reading and reviewing a "first-person" account of work or research in physical anthropology or archaeology.  The goal is to discover what it is like to do physical anthropology and archaeology in as much detail as possible.  Most final assignments--and most books you can read--are rehashes of someone else's research and thinking.  They do not explore the process by which we acquire and interpretation factual evidence.  The point of this assignment is to get as "close to the ground" as possible and find out what it is really like to find and assemble the facts.  Therefore, you can choose one of the these books or any other one like them.  When you look for a source, you want one that is written in first-person ("I") and that deals with the "detective work" or "puzzle-solving" that is science.
If you want to use a book that is not on this list (and this list is very partial), please run it by me first.
