in my agonizing decay
i feel uplifted
the pain refreshes my instincts

collapsing from grace, joy
decadent wings ripped, feathers bloodied
no longer able to support myself
within the realms of love
i tumble over
a forlorn comet to the ground
body burning, disintegrating
screaming for everything to halt,
my throat catches fire
roaring through the blaze i call to my deity for assistance, guidance
yet my tongue turns to ashes
stripped away by the breeze
i change
a cloud of blackened grey
streams of charred bone, skin
float above the landscape
forsaken by those who loved me
my body divides far and wide

the downward spiral of gravity
alighting me to moist soil
i take up residence
burrow deep within nutritious womb
aiding life, as it sips from my flaked corpse
grow things which i never would have become
had you kept me by your side, your heart
and loved me 'til death's depart
decay
exit
