2. Inbreeding: I do not approve of close inbreeding in most circumstances. I will not allow parent/foal or full sibling crosses in any breed. I will consider 1/2 siblings crosses in Welsh ponies as this is a very common practice and many of the best ponies result from such crosses.
Inbreeding in Irish Draughts is practiced as little as possible due to the small amount of purebred stock.
Inbreeding in Thoroughbreds is considered best in the 4th and 5th generations. Anything closer tends to emphasize faults, anything further back is thought to have no influence on the foal.
3. Currently, fees are 10 cents per parent and include a written pedigree of at least 4 generations and breeder's certificate.
4. Some other rules apply to various breeds. These are listed in the individual mare pages.
5. Color genetics must be followed. If you are not certain how a color may be inherited, a safe option is to be sure your foal is the same color as one of it's parents.
6. I require the following information: Foal's name, color, sex, make/model and 2 choices for birth year if it is a mare request. If the other parent does not belong to Nighthenge, please include name, year foaled, color, and a pedigree including the second generation of real horses.
