Christmas Pictures 2005
These first three pictures are the capelet and hat set I made for Mom this Christmas. They are knitted in garter stitch from a strand of maroon Sullivans Sashay and a strand of raspberry Sullivans Crinkle held together, with Mr. Brown Bernat Disco in stockinette stitch used as the brown fur trim on the first hat. The capelet has a short stand-up collar and a front button closure with 18 x 20 mm crystal acrylic drop beads. The first hat with the fur trim is in a short pillbox style. The second hat is a longer version which will cover Mom's ears.
The Sashay yarn is a 100% polyester short pile fur yarn in a dark ruby red color. The Crinkle yarn is a 72% polypropylene and acrylic, 28% polyamide bulky boucle yarn; the color is shaded ruby red and dark gold. Knitted together in garter stitch, they produced a predominately red fur pile with ruby and gold nubs and a light halo of longer gold fibers. The Disco yarn is a 67% acetate and 33% polyester yarn in a dark chocolate color with coppery sparkles.
The second three pictures are the two presents I got in an ornament exchange party for an online forum I visit. The picture on the right is a pewter snowflake pin. The other two are pictures of the Angels Blessing Box. The first shows the inscription in the lid of the white brocade box, and the second shows the glass angel in the base. Thanks, Erin!
