Thurs 14th Dec: Vic and I got some of our Xmas shopping done. Not the easiest thing to do when you discover you have a rather limited budget suddenly. The city centre looked fantastic with all the Xmas lights however.
Went with James to see Charlie's Angels in the eve. He was told at work today that he had a rather impressive Xmas bonus and pay rise. Since I had discovered I had very little money, he decided to treat me! Cheers mate! The film was quite funny really, and now James agrees with his mates that I do look quite like Drew Barrymore.

Weds 13th Dec:
1 hour. Bonus. Well I handed both my essays in. This afternoon, I went carol singing at the QMC (University Hospital) with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society (I'm a soprano). Started singing around the old people's wards, but then someone had the bright idea of standing in the main lobby and singing for a bit. We were on the first song, when a security guard dashed out with a dish and some money in it, feeling flattered we carried on, and it was PILING in. In fact, we were only there for 15 minutes and we made 34! Being nice people we donated it all to the hospital, but we are woundering if we should tackle the centre of Nottingham next term for the society! Now the work pressure is off at least, but I don't really feel like I have much to look forward too. Not even Christmas and going home. Sorry guys, but there is never anywhere to go out, and here there is never anyone to go out with to the places I want. There must be something wrong with me. I thought all students were supposed to be out partying all night, and sitting on their arses watching Trisha all day. What happened?

Tues 12th Dec:
AAAARRRGGHH! I have an essay to hand in tomorrow I haven't written yet. I don't think sleep is on the agenda of tonight's activities. :(

Sun 10th Dec:
Been having trouble writing my essay, impossible task this weekend. Felt bad leaving Cheryl to spend the eve in my flat, but I had told her well in advance that I was going to a pre-booked meal at the local Chinese with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Had a great night actually. There were about 30 of us so we took up most of the restaurant. Food was nice, and I don't really like Chinese much. The night ended with us all singing anything we could think of for the benefit of our hosts who love us!
