ASK THE DIRECTOR

-   Is the day care licensed?  By whom?

-   What qualifications are set for the staff?  How are references checked?

-   How is discipline handled?

-   What arrangements are made for sick children?

-   May I have references?  The names of parents whose children have gone through the school, and parents of children now enrolled?

-   What is the children's daily routine?  Are there other special programs or activities?

-   What is the child-staff ratio?  (Should be no more than 5:1 for children 3 to 4 years old; 7:1 for 4 to 6 year olds.)

-   What is the tuition?  Can it be paid in installments?

-   The answers to the above questions will help you narrow your selection.  Make an appointment to visit two or three centers.
